Randy grew up in the church and started playing trumpet in the fifth grade and playing solos in church while in middle school. In college, he started to sing and picked up the guitar. Shortly after college graduation, Randy felt called to youth ministry where he spent eight years in it full-time. Music has always been a big part of any ministry he has done, and after youth ministry found himself focusing on music. He has spent the last 15 or so years leading worship as a volunteer or as a part-time staff member, until coming on full-time here at The Life Center and First UMC.
Randy has one daughter, Leah. She is a college student and a member of the Army National Guard.
In January of 2020, Randy started seminary, studying for his Masters of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary. Over the last year and a half, he has felt called to full-time ministry, which has led him to our church. He loves the Lord, and loves the local church, and is passionate about using music and worship to create an atmosphere for people to experience the living God.
