Chad Yoder – Senior Pastor

Before you know anything else about Pastor Chad, you should know he loves Jesus with all his heart, mind, soul, and strength. He wants you to experience God's life-transforming presence too. Chad joined the Goshen First and Life Center team in 2020, excited for the possibilities for sharing Jesus in Goshen. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Religion from Liberty University and a Masters of Divinity from United Theological Seminary.

Chad also co-directs a mission organization called Kuandaa International, training pastors and planting churches around the world. Chad believes that all people benefit from following Jesus and that the Church should be the people to lead the way. He and his wife, Erin, are raising three beautiful daughters to love the Lord, too. In his spare time, you can find him at one of the local disc golf courses.

Diana Siegel – Associate Pastor, Caring Ministries

Pastor Diana Siegel grew up near Topeka. She is a graduate of Indiana University, Fort Wayne campus, and Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, A United Methodist Seminary in Evanston, IL, where she earned a Master of Divinity degree. She also studied in a Doctor of Ministry program at Drew Theological Seminary in Madison, NJ. Ordained in The United Methodist Church, she has served churches in Topeka, Pierceton, Fort Wayne, Huntington, and Warsaw. Pastor Diana also serves in the volunteer chaplain program at Goshen Hospital. Her passion is in caring ministries and Biblical studies. She is excited to have the opportunity to help people connect to God and each other through Goshen First UMC and the Life Center.

Diana and her husband John married in 1990 and moved to Goshen in 2016. John is retired from the Indiana State Police and also served as an internal investigator for the Indiana Department of Transportation. Between them, they have three adult children who live in Middlebury, Millersburg, and Fort Wayne.


Bobbi Smith – Youth Pastor

Being actively involved as a leader within the youth ministry since August 2010, Bobbi has a strong passion for working with middle and high school students. She is happily married to her husband Matt who is her strong supporter and teammate in everything she does, especially within the youth ministry. Together, they have one son, whom they adopted from Ethiopia in 2018.With a strong desire to make an impact within this world and the community she serves, Bobbi has an enthusiasm not only for youth ministry, but also for music, missions, and travel. She desires to continue using all of these gifts to help further God's kingdom and make a difference in the lives of today's youth.

Hannah Hochstetler – Communications Director

Hannah joined the staff in 2020 as Office Administrator, and a year later transitioned to Communications Director. She graduated from Huntington University in 2014 with a degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Fine Art. Hannah has always had a passion for bringing art back into the church and has done freelance design for churches across the nation.

Hannah lives in Goshen with her fluffy cat, Ellis, and enjoys game nights, picnics, being out in nature – specifically the mountains, and loves to travel local and abroad!

Sarah Ross – Children’s Ministry Director – Life Center

Sarah Ross began working here as the Life Center Director of our Children’s Ministry in December 2017, although she had been employed as a nursery care worker for this church in previous years. She is currently attending Indiana University South Bend and is working towards graduating with a B.S. degree in General Business. 

She lives in Elkhart with her husband, Austin, and their two pets: a greyhound named Buzz, and Suzie Q. the snake. 

Rob Burton – Children's Ministry Director – Downtown

Rob has been volunteering in Children's Ministry serving in different roles in leading/teaching kids in churches and church-related ministries most of his life. He knows and loves Jesus. He has a big heart and passion for kids to know and love Jesus, and make Him known. He has taught in serval Christian and public schools for over 25 years, and is currently teaching full time at Elkhart Community Schools. Rob is very excited to be working with the team at the Downtown campus. 

Rob enjoys reading, singing, exercising by walking and jogging, traveling, summer camp and time with his family and friends. He has a bachelor's degree from Taylor University Fort Wayne, and a Master's degree from Wheaton College Graduate School. He has two adult children who live near Chicago.

Amy Kauffman – Office Adminstrator

Amy first began attending The Life Center with her family when she was in middle school. After graduating from Ball State University in 2005, she served as the Executive Assistant for a non-profit ministry and local church in Greenwood, IN.  In 2011, God led her back to Goshen, where she met her husband Jon. They married in 2016 and have one daughter, Izzy Marie. Together they enjoy many outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, and biking!  

Amy has always had a passion for the church and a desire to use her gifts to serve staff and members in furthering God’s Kingdom.  She is excited to be a part of all God is doing in and through Goshen First UMC and The Life Center!

Linda Ponce – Treasurer

Linda Ponce has been serving as Treasurer at First UMC for many years, and recently retired from her full-time job as Operations Officer at First State Bank. She graduated from National College of Education with a math/elementary education major. Linda enjoys working in her yard and her new free time to watch her grandkids. She is married to Armando Ponce and has two children: Meaghan, and son-in-law Andrew Byslma, and a son, Andrew.

Ben Whirledge – Volunteer Ministries Coordinator

Ben Whirledge is our clergy volunteer member of the staff, serving as Volunteer Ministries Coordinator. Ben is a graduate of Purdue University and Southern Methodist University's Perkins School of Theology.He served as Associate Pastor here from 1983-88 and as Senior Pastor at Milford United Methodist Church from 1988-93. He and his wife, Marie, have been married for 30 years and have two sons: Brian, who is an elementary art teacher, and John, who is a worship pastor at Fountain City Wesleyan Church in Richmond, Indiana. Ben and Marie live on the family farm near Millersburg.

Garry Anglemyer – Maintenance Facilitator

Garry Anglemyer began working for First UMC in September 2010 as Maintenance Facilitator. He is married to Kathy, and they have three adult children with families living both locally and in Arizona.

Anyone who knows Garry can tell you his number one interest: motorcycles! He loves riding and racing motorcycles. His favorite hobby is enjoying his grandkids and grand-dogs!
