Pastors Ed & Brenda Fritz – Senior Pastors

Pastor Brenda Fritz grew up in the small town of LaFontaine, Indiana and is a graduate of Ball State University, where she majored in social work and criminal justice. Pastor Ed Fritz is from the small town of Muncy, Pennsylvania. He earned a teaching degree in health and physical education from Lock Haven State University in Pennsylvania.

Ed and Brenda both received their Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. It was at Asbury that Ed and Brenda met and were married during their final year of school. In the past 30 years that Brenda and Ed have been in ministry, they have served 21 different churches. Their ministry started with four churches in Mississippi, and then two different appointments in Pennsylvania. In 1992, the Fritz’s moved to Indiana where they have served churches in Royal Center, South Bend, Marion, and Fairmount. Now the Fritz’s are visioning how God is going to use them as servants of Christ to serve His Church here in Goshen.

Steve Campagna – Minister of Music

Steve joined the staff of Goshen First United Methodist Church in January 2010. He is a graduate of Anderson University, Southern School of Music, and Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois.
Over the past 36 years, Steve has served churches in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Arizona. Steve has a passion for helping the church discover and participate in authentic and heartfelt worship. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoys hiking and camping, road biking and outdoor photography. Steve and his wife, Jenny, have three children and three grandchildren.

Bobbi Smith – Youth Pastor

Being actively involved as a leader within the youth ministry since August 2010, Bobbi has a strong passion for working with middle and high school students. She is happily married to her husband Matt who is her strong supporter and teammate in everything she does, especially within the youth ministry. Together, they have one son, whom they adopted from Ethiopia in 2018.With a strong desire to make an impact within this world and the community she serves, Bobbi has an enthusiasm not only for youth ministry, but also for music, missions, and travel. She desires to continue using all of these gifts to help further God’s kingdom and make a difference in the lives of today’s youth.


Wendy Yoder – Director of Children’s Ministries

Downtown Campus

Wendy is married to her high school sweetheart, Lance, and they have 4 children together: Maya, Madison, Myles, and Max. She graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Youth, Adult and Family Services with a minor in Organizational Leadership Supervision. Wendy has always loved working with children and her previous job was as a preschool teacher for 6 years. The Yoder family enjoys volunteering together, learning about Jesus, raising their animals, and they have a special place in their hearts for adoption. Lance and Wendy spent time in the fall of 2017 in South Korea learning the culture and bringing their little Max home. Wendy loves to spend her free time with her family and friends, reading, playing games, exercising, traveling and playing with their dog Bailey. She is very excited to introduce and bring the love of Christ to all our children with fun, age-appropriate, interactive ways!

Sarah Ross – Director of Children’s Ministries – Life Center Campus

Sarah Ross began working here as the Life Center Representative of our Children’s Ministry in December 2017, although she had been employed as a nursery care worker for this church in previous years. She is currently attending Indiana University South Bend and is working towards graduating with a B.S. degree in General Business.

Harriet Martin – Office Administrator

Harriet Martin has been working here as Office Administrator for a number of years. She attended one year of college at Hesston, Kansas, and three years at Goshen College, graduating with a B.S. degree in Organizational Management. In the past, Harriet has worked at different jobs, but her favorites have been working for churches. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the organ, reading, walking for exercise, and traveling. She has two sons: David, who is married to Amy, and Jason, who is married to Ruth. David and Amy have three sons, and Jason and Ruth have a daughter.

Linda Ponce – Treasurer

Linda Ponce has been serving as Treasurer at FUMC for a number of years. She works here part-time along with her full-time job as Operations Officer at First State Bank in Middlebury.She graduated from National College of Education with a math/elementary education major. Working at the bank and being Treasurer at FUMC does not allow Linda much free time, but she does enjoy working in her yard. She is married to Armando Ponce and has two children: Meaghan, and son-in-law Andrew Byslma, and a son, Andrew.


Ben Whirledge – Volunteer Ministries Coordinator

Ben Whirledge is our clergy volunteer member of the staff, serving as Volunteer Ministries Coordinator. Ben is a graduate of Purdue University and Southern Methodist University’s Perkins School of Theology.He served as Associate Pastor here from 1983-88 and as Senior Pastor at Milford United Methodist Church from 1988-93. He and his wife, Marie, have been married for 30 years and have two sons: Brian, who is an elementary art teacher, and John, who is a worship pastor at Fountain City Wesleyan Church in Richmond, Indiana. Ben and Marie live on the family farm near Millersburg.


Garry Anglemyer – Maintenance Facilitator

Garry Anglemyer began working for FUMC in September 2010 as Maintenance Facilitator. He is married to Kathy, and they have three adult children.Their son, Barry, is married to Davina, and they have a daughter, Payton, and a son, Talon. Their son, Kelly, lives in Goshen with his wife, Val, and they have a son named Aspen. Their daughter, Bobbi, is married to Matt Smith and they live in Wakarusa.

Garry’s interests are motorcycles! He loves riding and racing motorcycles. His favorite hobby is enjoying his grandkids and granddogs!


Cammi Waggoner – Life Center Custodian

Cammi Waggoner has been serving as Custodian at FUMC since January 2018.  She works here part-time along with her full-time job as a Case Manager for Elkhart County Community Corrections.    She graduated from Ivy Tech College with an associate’s degree in Computer Management. She enjoys gardening in both flowers and vegetables, reading, rubber stamping and scrapbooking and has 3 dogs named Zeke, Zena and Lilly who enjoy daily walks and lots of attention.
